Activity Overview: Students will create a “Thought Collage” about what they like to do. Students can debrief in pairs, in small groups, or as a class.

Goal: Students will create a “Thought Collage” about activities they like to do. Students will share some examples with classmates.

Prep Time: n/a or 5 minutes (if you create an example Thought Collage)

Duration: 15 minutes (10 minutes: collage; 5 minutes: debrief)

Student Instructions:

  1. Sail to About Me Mountain.

  2. Open the treasure chest, and complete the Thought Collage: “What I like to Do.”

  3. When you finish, click SAVE at the bottom of the page. Your response will be saved in your portfolio.

Key Questions:

  1. Why is it important to have things you like to do in addition to your academic and family responsibilities?

  2. Do you think that participating in activities you enjoy lowers your stress level?

  3. How can identifying what you like to do for fun, help you think about what  you want to do as a career?

Lesson Steps:

  1. Explain to students that an important part of who we are is what we like to do. Potentially provide an example projected on the board of a completed collage.

  2. Students should take approximately 10 minutes creating the Thought Collage.

  3. Debrief/share out as a class incorporating Key Questions as needed to generate focused discussion.
